1^st Place Winner of my “LittleMissSquiggles’ 25^th Birthday of Stars” Birthday Game

A couple months late but better late than never, right folks? As with my last winner’s piece, thank you once again for taking part in my game and congratulations on being my first place winner hun. I hope you are pleased with your request. As requested, you took me back to my old school Cartoon Network days. Back in the days of the awesometasticYoung Justice of DC Nation and its equally epic second season Young Justice Invasion. It was actually in Season 2 where we got our first glimpse of these characters: Asami Koizumi (Samurai—left), Tye Longshadow (Apache Chief—right), Eduardo Dorado Jr (El Dorado middle) and of course, my man, Virgil Hawkins (Superhero Static Shock….woot! Whoot!—bottom right) aka the Superpowered Runaways.

I must admit that working on this piece brought back some serious uber nostalgic feels. I was really obsessed with Young Justice once upon a time (I used to do fun, funny fan comics for the school called YJ Amigos) and I was a big fan of the Runaways as well. I loved the Runaways. They were one of the best parts of the second season for me along with the story focussing more on Blue Beetle (another one of my favs from the second season) and I was really, REALLY looking forward to watching these four grow if possible in future seasons. But alas, it never happened because Cartoon Network went and messed that up by cancelling this amazing show with its diverse cast of strong characters; instead replacing it with Teen Titans Go. Yep, still very salty about that in 2016. I honestly would like for them to bring back YJ. I really miss the series and I really miss the characters including these guys. Thank you for allowing me to draw them for you hlwar. I honestly hope you like how this turned out. Enjoy and I hope any other ole school fans of YJ and the Runways will like this as well.
